Søstrene Grene – Christmas in miniature

Tiny mice, ceramic houses, classic colours and ornaments with humour. At Søstrene Grene, Christmas is built from details that together create a small world of their own.

At Søstrene Grene, the palette is more traditionally festive: red, white, green and natural tones. Yet it is not the big gestures that catch the eye, but the many small figures and objects that collectively tell the story.

There is something almost theatrical about the assortment. Mice, houses, windmills, parcels and ornaments work as tiny characters as much as decorations.

Small figures, strong effect

The textile mice are among the first things that catch our attention. Striped scarves, red dresses and tiny winter details give them a nostalgic quality without feeling overly traditional.

One or two are enough. On a shelf, in a window or among books, they can mark the season without requiring the entire room to become Christmas-themed.

The ceramic houses and windmills work in much the same way. Individually, they are simple objects; together, they become a small Christmas landscape.

We particularly like the combination of deep green and white. It feels classic enough for Christmas while remaining graphic enough for a more restrained interior.

Ornaments that do not take themselves too seriously

On the ornament wall, familiar Christmas motifs sit alongside animals, food, parcels, hot-air balloons and other small characters.

The result encourages a tree built less around a perfect palette and more around objects you actually enjoy. A few unexpected ornaments among simpler baubles can do more than an entirely colour-coordinated theme.

Making the classics feel lighter

Red, white and green appear throughout, but soft textiles, wood, pastel notes and small metallic details keep the overall expression light.

It is a Christmas style that can be added to what is already at home rather than requiring everything else to change.
